3:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Advanced violin class – Teaching of dances from Magyarpalatka, led by Márton Kovács

9:00 PM: Dance house and informal music sessions

Information – What you should know Timetable

10am–1pmInstruction
Each instructor has their own room for teaching their group Viola and bass players learn the same material as the four violin and woodwind groups No matter how tired you are the instruction will always begin at 10am. If you are late, don’t bother coming in
1pm–2pm
Lunch

2pm–4pm
Rest
Highly recommended especially for those who were up until the small hours “practicing”...for the instructors too
4pm–7pm
Instruction
Each instructor with their group in their own room Viola and bass players learn the same material as the four violin and woodwind groups
7pm–8pm
Dinner

8pm–9pm
Short Rest

9pm–11pm
Jam Session

This is usually the highlight of the day with participants playing the songs that they learnt throughout the day together as a group. Each instructor stands in front of their group and helps each member as well as playing themselves. By the end of the camp, the repertoire is so extensive that this session may last until midnight.
Several bands may be formed over the evening:

  • Beginner violins, violas and bass start off the evening
  • Those playing at an intermediate level continue.
  • Then the advanced musicians
  • Wind instruments close the session for the night

Dance House and Folk Pub
